Halloween Party Table From The News

So, I FINALLY got the pictures off of my wonderful mom's camera from my television debut last Monday. It was so much fun getting it all together and meeting Jennifer Ketchmark and Dave Benton from the WCIA news. So, here is a little closer look at the table scape and all the yummy goodies...

My mother-in-law got this super cute spider web cupcake stand for me at Target. And dear husband added a foam base to the bottom layer for me to poke the Oreo Sucker sticks into.

Here are my Snickerdoodle Cupcakes with Marshmallow Ghost Peep toppers. (They also make pumpkin peeps that would be just as cute!)

Yummy Mummy Oreo Suckers... inspired by How Does She?
I used ribbon and these free printables for the Oreo Suckers, too.

My 6-Legged Spider Cupcakes
I made a chocolate cupcake, then filled them with an oreo cream filling.... YUM.
Topped them off with a vanilla buttercream frosting and these are a sure HIT!

I found these cute, FREE, casket printables HERE.

Love the Day for Catch My Party had these free printables for the water bottle labels and mini chocolate wrappers. (Gotta LOVE Love the Day! Especially since I won one of her giveaways that you'll see in an upcoming party soon!)

And here are my Pumpkin Cupcakes with Pumpkin Buttercream Frosting.
And last but not least... here is a link to see my tv debut. I really wish I could narrate it for you, but just know... I had to follow a lady who brought a cat up for adoption that had feline herpes. Yea, you try going on live after that bombshell...
Now go have a FUN Halloween Party!!!!!

Cookies & Cream Cheesecake Cupcakes #7

My sister-in-law, Kindi, picked out the Cookies & Cream Cheesecakes for her birthday this past weekend. These were super easy, and super yummy! I wish I had thought to take a photo of the insides and the bottoms, as there is a WHOLE oreo on the bottom of the cupcake. I may add a tad more sugar next time to make them a tiny bit sweeter, but these were good... and a hit with the Birthday Girl!

Good Stinkin' Grief!

So.... anyone want to take a guess as to what this hot mess is??? It would be my first attempt at shipping cupcakes and as you can see it was a big, honkin', disaster... Soooooo disappointed, but lesson learned, I guess. I guess the only pro is that they still tasted yummy even if they had to be eaten with a fork. So, on to Plan B....anyone got a Plan B?????

Happy Birthday, Stacy!
Sorry they were a big, purple, mess... Thanks for having a birthday and being my first cupcake shipping experience guinea pig!

Chocolate Malted Cupcakes -#6

I was busy baking again today, so in continuing my Martha's Cupcake Project, today I tackled the Chocolate Malted Cupcakes. My (future) sister-in-law's birthday is tomorrow so I wanted to give shipping cupcakes a try, so this seemed to be the perfect opportunity. She requested chocolate, so I thought these sounded pretty good. I'm not a HUGE chocolate cake kinda girl, but these were good! VERY good. I used a vanilla buttercream frosting, like Martha recommended, but I think next time I'd do a chocolate ganache or even a peanut butter buttercream. The vanilla just didn't do it for me. But, they were still good. Yummmm, I just thought maybe a chocolate frosting with crushed Whoppers on top or just one Whopper on top would be de-lish. I'll try that next time!

YUMMY Caramel Apple Dip... A MUST TRY!

Well, the girls over at How Does She? has done it again! They posted a recipe for caramel apple dip that I knew I wanted to try, especially after seeing how easy peasy it was to make. This apple dip really is heaven in a jar. I was going to make caramel covered apples using Brach's caramels, but after trying this dip, I thought no way am I wasting my apples on Brach's caramels when I can use this dip! You seriously, need to try this!!! Here's a link to the recipe HERE. Be very, very careful... this stuff is addicting and sinful... so much so, you may find yourself just dipping your finger in it and eating right out of the jar.

Martha's Pumpkin Cupcakes

So, this morning I've been busy baking Pumpkin Cupcakes for "BOOing" my neighbors. This recipe was not in my Martha Stewart cupcake cookbook, but it IS a Martha Stewart recipe. The Pumpkin Cupcake in the cookbook sounded good, but I think I was short one ingredient and lo and behold, I had all the ingredients to make these! I did add 1/4 tsp of pumpkin pie spice to give it just a little more pumpkin zip, and again didn't bake them quite as long as recommended. They said to bake them for 20-25 minutes, but 17 minutes worked for me. I had my dear husband be my taste tester, and they were a HUGE hit. We almost can't decide if they are better than the snickerdoodle cupcakes from earlier this week. They were sooooooooo good. In the cupcake cookbook, they recommend topping them with a cream cheese frosting, but I didn't have any cream cheese. So, I googled a pumpkin buttercream frosting and was not disappointed! YUM-OOO! These will for sure be made again! Here's a link to the Pumpkin Cupcake recipe HERE and a link for the Pumpkin Buttercream Frosting HERE. Now get to "BOOing" your friends and neighbors!!!!
