So, over on facebook (which by the way, are you following me yet?) I asked if anyone knew of a good place to get cupcakes over in Indianapolis. I got nothing. So, I did a little research and found a few places that I thought we could try, one being Gigi's Cupcakes. So, when I ventured out on my own, leaving TJ at the hotel to fend for himself with a sick Jillian and Monster Jam obsessed Brock, I happen to see Gigi's Cupcakes. Who cares that I had just had red velvet cheesecake the night before at The Cheesecake Factory, these are CUPCAKES! So, I went in. Their shop was really cute and quaint, and their cupcakes looked yummy! Just take a look...
I bought four cupcakes, because at $3 a cupcake...Yow-Za, you can't afford a dozen! Going clock-wise starting with the pink one was a Strawberry Cupcake with a Champagne frosting, then Coconut Snowball, Champagne, and then Wedding Cake. I was so excited to try the Champagne Cupcake, and it was yummy, but it just tasted like a good vanilla cupcake. Coconut and Strawberry were good, but the winner for me was the Wedding Cake one. Soooo good!
Does that frosting not look like it should be in a large vanilla ice cream cone from DQ???
{And as a disclaimer... I did NOT eat ALL that frosting... I did however SAMPLE each cupcake and then proceeded to eat the majority of the Wedding Cake Cupcake. leaving a big hunk of the frosting uneaten. It made for an excellent supper! LOL!)
Check out their weekly line-up...
yum! I made champagne cupcakes for my NYE party. Here is the link to the recipe. Mine tasted like champagne, but very buttery.
